Simulated Assessments

Simulated assessments are conducted using a story based structure in a simulated work environment where the student has access to people, processes, forms/template, work records, priorities, values and competing demands of a workplace.

Best for students who:

Are unemployed, or
Do not have access to a relevant workplace

In the Workplace Assessments

In the Workplace assessments provide structured activities to be completed in the student own workplace. These assessments are focused on collecting a portfolio of evidence which showcases the students experience and can leverage past experience to fast track assessment.

Best for students who:

Work in a relevant role in the workplace
Will have access to vocational/work placement during assessment

RPL Assessments

RPL assessments provide a structured framework to support students to collect a portfolio of evidence which showcases the students past professional experience and give assessors a set of clear benchmarks for evaluating workplace evidence.

Best for students who:

Have significant previous experience in relevant roles
Have access to records of their previous work and managers/supervisors

Simulated Assessment

We create simulated work environments and process based assessments. A simulated environment is a whole set of conditions that replicate what it’s like to be at work. A process based assessment is one that asks the student to go through the steps they would to actually do the task in the real world.

Simply, simulation is when we do everything we can to make the student feel like they are at work, and make them feel comfortable and confident when they get to their first day on the job.

When developing our simulated work environment, we consider the factors which define 'work' (even when it's no longer always a physical location). Some these factors include:

At work my boss or my clients let me know what’s needed.
At work I share what I know with others, but I never sit down and answer 20 questions.
At work I don’t get all of the information upfront – nothings handed to me on a silver platter.
At work I have processes I have to follow and forms for what I need to do.
At work I deal with real people.
At work I follow a process.
